Two-time Grammy award winning soul singer Peabo Bryson scored a No. 1 hit with 1991's "Can You Stop The Rain", which was taken from his fifteenth studio album of the same name. Produced by Walter Afanasieff and written by Afanasieff and John Bettis, "Can You Stop The Rain" spent two weeks at number one on the US R&B chart and peaked at number fifty-two on the Billboard Hot 100.
