Friday Night Throwback: Stacy Lattisaw & Johnny Gill - "Where Do We Go From Here"

Written by noted songwriter/producer LeMel Humes (whose credits include sides by Stephanie Mills and Miki Howard), Staci Lattisaw's 1990 single/duet "Where Do We Go From Here," captured the tone of her and then-boyfriend Johnny Gill's personal relationship (the two grew up together in Washington D.C.). From Lattisaw's 9th album What You Need, "Where Do We Go From Here" peaked at number one on the Billboard R&B chart for two weeks in the first part of '90. After the single's release Gill would move on to a very successful career as a solo artist and as a member of New Edition. While Lattisaw, who signed her first record deal at the age of 13 and had a string of Top 40 kits in the 80's, would quickly move on from R&B and Pop to become an exclusive gospel music singer.
