Friday Night Throwback: Parliament - "Aqua Boogie (A Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadoloop)"
Written by frontman George Clinton (who produced the record as well), along with bassist Bootsy Collins and keyboardist Bernie Worrell, funk group Parliament's "Aqua Boogie (A Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadoloop)", from their 1978 album, Motor Booty Affair, spent four weeks at number one on the R&B singles chart during the winter of 1979. And while many listeners mistook the song topicality as being about having a party or dancing under water, it wasn't. Instead "Aqua Boogie" was actually about the struggles of dealing with life in America in the late 70's.
