Friday Night Throwback: Changing Faces - "G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T."
Former background singers from New York City, Cassandra Lucas and Charisse Rose aka Changing Faces, scored a major hit in 1997 with "G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T.", the lead single from their second album All Day, All Night. Written and produced by R. Kelly, the song, about female strength during a relationship heading south, perfectly blended Lucas and Rose's soulful, gospel-tinged vocals. Add to that a video that complimented well the angst felt in the lyrics and you had the group's biggest hit, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 while spending seven weeks at number one on the Billboard R&B chart.
