Friday Night Throwback: "Shotgun" - Junior Walker & the All Stars
The first hit for Motown act Junior Walker & the All Stars, the 1965 single "Shotgun" (which referred to a dance craze) was written and composed by Walker and produced by Berry Gordy Jr. and Lawrence Horn. It reached number one on the U.S. R&B Singles chart for four non-consecutive weeks and peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. A guitarist by the name of Jimi Hendrix would perform the song live with the All Stars.
